Berkeley Square House (BSH) is one of London’s finest and most internationally recognised addresses. At the centre of the West End’s commercial and financial heart, the 352,000 square foot Berkeley Square House provides a prestigious head office for some of the West End’s most dynamic occupiers.
Clymac are proud to be the long-term fire alarm system and maintenance provider at this prestigious multi-tenant office facility.
The challenges
- Install and update new systems when new tenants requiring updated layouts occupy the building.
- Ensure any new systems communicate with the overall fire safety network.
Solution
Our intimate knowledge of the site and the configuration of the fire alarm system in each area is put to good use by contractors when they are employed to make the changes. Our design team are on hand to put together the fire alarm design for the revised layout to ensure both compliance with the British Standards and the spare capacity available on the system. When engaged by the building contractor, Clymac will either supply the equipment to be installed by the electrical contractor or we will install the equipment ourselves. This varies from project to project to suit the customer, but in all cases Clymac are employed to commission the equipment, setting it to work, modify the system cause and effect configuration and updating the colour graphics pages.
Technology provided
- Mixed hybrid of hardwired and wireless detectors, manual call points, sounders, beacons and interfaces.
- Multiple field devices seamlessly connected into a network of Ziton fire alarm panels located around the building.
- All devices connected to a colour graphics PC installed in the site’s security control room.
- Maintenance of all systems include testing all of the devices and checking the battery status of all control panels and wireless equipment, with any client intrusive works performed at weekends to avoid disruption to the tenants. During each maintenance visit we are also walk the site with the drawings to check on any changes to the layout that require us to update the Colour Graphics system.
