Clymac have been providing fire alarm support for Derbyshire County Council and the buildings it takes care of for over 20 years. The Council made the decision to install and maintain their own systems by making use of its direct labour engineering team.

Our support consists of system designs for their engineers, supply of fire alarm systems and maintenance support for their direct labour engineering team.

The Ziton ZP system was selected as the best solution for the Council due to both its hard wire and wireless capabilities. This means the best solution can be offered depending upon the type of building it is being installed within.
The comprehensive Ziton ZP fire alarm panels are common to both the hardwired and wireless systems, simplifying installation.
Clymac support the council by providing training for its engineers and high-level technical support as and when needed.
Our wireless range of fire products have proved particularly appropriate for many of the council’s projects where the building is already occupied and fully operational. The disruption of installing a hardwired fire alarm system in some buildings particularly elderly care homes has lead the council in many cases to opt for a wireless solution.
We have developed a tried and tested method for installing our systems by surveying every building before selecting appropriate detectors, manual call points and sounders. These are pre-programmed off site by our commissioning engineer and shipped to site for the council’s direct labour team to install. This enables the installation to take place over a matter of days after which our commissioning engineer visits site to set the system to work, saving the client time and money.

Outcome

As a result of our collaborative partnership, the Council are able to install the appropriate fire alarm systems for their premises with the minimum of disruption using our tried and tested method.
