The University of Nottingham is consistently ranked among the world’s top 100 universities. With over 45,000 students and 7,000 staff, the University of Nottingham has a number of campuses in and around Nottingham with approximately 150 buildings. Its main campus on University Park is set in 330 acres around its lake and clock tower with extensive parkland greenery.
The University work with Clymac to ensure its extensive fire and safety system is regularly monitored and maintained, ensuring they remain compliant at all times.
Technology and services provided
- A dedicated engineer who keeps the estate’s fire alarm system in working order and minimises the number of false alarms.
- A dedicated engineer who deals with fault requests within a one-hour timeframe.
- An engineer who works with on-site contractors to organise any works requiring a modification to the fire alarms. This ranges from isolating detectors, making safe the cabling, installing new detectors and re-commissioning systems once works have been completed.
- Regular contract reviews with the client to ensure they are getting the most out of our service at all times.
- Regular monitoring of the health and suitability of the fire alarm system. We assist the University to identify fire systems requiring upgrade due to obsolescence or unreliability together with offering solutions for the client’s consideration.
Outcome
Our collaborative partnership with the University has meant Clymac have retained this fire alarm system maintenance contract for almost 20 years.
